Yes, it is true that this product does not close properly. BUT it looks like the problem is the top part only. I cut the bottom half of the both sides of the top part with scissors, and now it closes properly. Maybe you can try this.
For the first few days it was just fine. But it did not hold up to constant pocketing and un-pocketing.
Cover fit like a glove, snug and very flexible. Look forward to buy from again.
This case makes it very hard to get the phone to turn off when closed and there is no protection for the screen. It is a simple, slick case that grips well. The return fee of $2 makes it a buy it and keep it item. Shipping cost is the hidden cost.
This seemed to help it "settle in" the skin. The negative reviews have a point: Unless this skin is fitted perfectly, it will tend to hold the lid open a tiny bit, waking up the phone and using battery. After "training" it a couple of nights, the phone seems now to stay closed in my pocket. I found that if I pushed and pulled the skin into just the right position the phone would shut. I then placed a rubber band around the phone at night while I charged it. My complaint is that the skin makes it hard to use the side button for adjusting the ring volume. They should have provided a cut-out for that button as well.
